New Games on Nintendo Switch This Week: Serpents and Slayers

June has arrived! I don’t hear any cheers, but that’s probably because you haven’t heard about the new games you can expect this week on Nintendo Switch!  You heard me right, as with every week, we have, yet again, compiled our New Games on Nintendo Switch for the week of June 3rd. So clear your schedules, put on some pajama pants and check out the eShop, here’s what you can expect this week on the Nintendo Switch.

Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa

Release: June 4 2019

If you like secrets and mysteries, and if we’re honest with each other, which I hope we are, than we know that everyone loves secrets and mysteries, Kotodama sports 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa. 7 WHOLE MYSTERIES, but wait, there’s more, Kotodama charges players to seek the truths behind these mysteries by investigating, finding clues, and completing puzzles.  The anime style is also quite appealing to animephiles out there. Check it out!

Perchang

Release: June 4 2019

Perchang! It’s not just a fun word to say, it’ also happens to be a puzzle/action/strategy game. The way it is described is if you “think Lemmings mixed with Marble Madness and you’re a fraction of the way there. Also think of some lovely contraptions to really make you think and BOOM!hink Lemmings mixed with Marble Madness and you’re a fraction of the way there. Also think of some lovely contraptions to really make you think and BOOM!” Apparently, you’re attempting to move balls from an emitter to their goal point, but expect challenges. Crazy, zany challenges.

Red Siren: Space Defense

Release: June 4 2019

Ladies and gentleman, if I can take a moment and just point out the obvious. Space needs defending. Who should defend it? Robots. Definitely robots. In Red Siren: Space Defense, “the Exacorp established Red Siren combat squad to battle raiders, eliminate tanks  and fight against mechs,” that likely work for large corporations that threaten the vital resources of, planets, and stuff.  If you like mechs, this is worth checking out.

Slay the Spire

Release: June 4 2019

Oh that nasty spire is at it again.  You better slay it! Actually, this is a pretty cool idea, in Slay the Spire, developer Mega Crit “fused card games and roguelikes together to make the best single player deckbuilder (they) could. Craft a unique deck, encounter bizarre creatures, discover relics of immense power, and Slay the Spire!” It sounds like a card battlin’ good time to me!

Timespinner

Release: June 4 2019

Do you hate fate? Boy, I’m with you. Who doesn’t want to stick it to that ol’ bugaboo fate? Well in Timespinner, you get to “travel back in time to change fate itself, in this beautifully crafted story-driven adventure, inspired by classic 90s action-platformers.” Time travel? Adventures? Is there anything MORE exciting?  Timespinner looks like a fantastic little game, with a heaping helping of 90’s nostalgia to boot.

Tiny Derby

Release: June 4 2019

If you’ve been worried about the size of your Derby, fear not, for no Derby is as small as Tiny Derby. In Tiny Derby, you’ll have to put your mighty mini critters to the test “in short and frantic races, and your role is to put hazards and boosts on the race track to hinder the bad guys and help out the good guys (the cute yellow ones).” Make your tiny friends tiny champions, and win the TINY DERBY!

In Case You Missed It:

Gato Roboto

Release: May 30th 2019

Cute kitties, giant armored mechs. What do these things have in common? Usually not much, but in Gato Roboto, well, I think you know where I’m going with this. When playing Gato Roboto, “pounce inside of your cozy armored mech and set off on a dangerous trek through an alien underworld full of irritable creatures and treacherous obstacles in a valiant effort to save your stranded captain and his crashed spaceship.” Gato Roboto is adorably pixelated, and frantically fun, so don’t waste another moment to get your cat on.
