It feels like 2024 is shaping up to be one helluva a year in video games. Nearly every month has seen massive hits (and abysmal misses) that have kept players entertained for half the year with the promise of even more hits coming in the latter half of 2024. We’re going to take a look at the games of July 2024. Whether you’re a fan of RPGs, MMOs, shooters, or any number of hybrid genre titles, there’s something for everyone to keep summer cool. The First Descendant

It is a free-to-play third-person looter shooter set in the fantasy world of Ingris. Players will take on the roles of Descendants – experienced warriors defending a fictional continent from monsters. The existence of all humanity is at stake, so there is no way to lose in the war against monsters. The game supports co-op for up to four people, which is very useful since some bosses, which are huge monsters, are extremely difficult to cope with alone. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is the fifth major expansion for the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The events of Endwalker are in the past, and now the Warrior of Light and his comrades are waiting for an exciting vacation on the territory of a completely new continent for the game, the central theme of which is “the best summer holiday that is available to the hero.” Also in the add-on, players will find a new character class, as well as the beginning of a new global storyline.
Zenless Zone Zero

A new action game from the Chinese company HoYoverse, which created the extremely successful Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. Zenless Zone Zero is similar in many ways: it is the same free-to-play game, where there are microtransactions and gacha mechanics that allow you to unlock new characters. And in order to use this mechanic, you need to spend a special resource, which can either be obtained during the passage, or purchased for real money. The events take place in the fantastic city of New Eridu, whose inhabitants are threatened by creatures of the Void. You will play as an operator controlling fighters who fight monsters. Zenless Zone Zero is a fast-paced slasher game with real-time battles and the ability to switch between characters on a team. Success in battles is determined by a competent combination of skills of different fighters.
Once Human

An open world multiplayer survival game set in a dystopian future where the world has fallen to a cosmic invasion. The sinister “Stardust” has infected all living things, mutating flora and fauna, and humanity struggles to survive. As one of the few survivors endowed with supernatural powers thanks to the infection, you will team up with other players to fight monsters, build shelters and gradually unravel the mystery of the apocalypse. Explore a vast and dangerous world full of dangers and secrets. Use your newfound abilities to fight enemies and solve puzzles. Collect resources, create weapons, armor and other items necessary for survival.
Bleak Faith: Forsaken

An action-adventure game clearly inspired by something called Souls. Explore the Omnistructure, a rich world rife with danger. Get ready to be immersed in a new world unlike any you’ve seen before. Every fight is dangerous and will push you to your limits. Positioning, timing and resource management are all things you should always keep in mind. If you completed Dark Souls with your eyes closed, then here you will have to open at least one. Get ready for unforgettable boss battles accompanied by unique soundtracks. Bosses raise the level of danger even higher and provide an exciting ride through the various sectors of the Omnistructure. Choose a class and develop your ideal playstyle. But remember that not every choice is reversible, so decide wisely which direction you take your character.
Anger Foot

A colorful first-person shooter where the main character’s leg is a weapon no less deadly than pistols and other firearms. Kicking enemies in this game is not only possible, but necessary – all in order to restore order in Shit City, where lawlessness and crime reign. You can also shoot at Anger Foot, but your main argument in battles is still kicks. It’s even possible to choose and customize the shoes your character wears, so that each new kick is different from the previous one.
The Last Alchemist

An alchemist simulator, the events of which take place in a fairy-tale world. Players will have to build their own alchemical laboratory from scratch, solve many puzzles and uncover no less than alchemical secrets, as well as find out recipes for potions. But in order to be able to brew these potions, you have to go to a fantasy world and get all the necessary resources there.
Supernatural

A first-person horror game in which a private detective goes into a house with otherworldly creatures to solve the mystery of the disappearance of a maid. One of the main gameplay features is the ability to connect a microphone so that the game picks up external sounds. According to the developers, the player will even have the opportunity to communicate with an ominous entity that is hunting the main character. However, such communication will not always help to avoid problems.
Flock

A cooperative adventure game about colorful flying flocks, vaguely reminiscent of Flower. A new project from the developers of “I Am Dead” and “Wilmot’s Warehouse”.
Aerial_Knight’s We Never Yield

Set in a futuristic slice of Detroit, Aerial_Knight’s We Never Yield is a 3D runner that’s all about speed, reflexes, and vibing to the beat of a cool soundtrack. After launching on PC in May, the endless runner is sliding onto PC and console this month.

Sstudio Toadman, known for Immortal: Unchained, at the beginning of the year announced co-op first-person shooter EvilVEvil. But then she told practically nothing about him. But now the creators have released the first developer diary, in which they presented the game. EvilvEvil takes place in the near future. Vampires and other creatures emerged from the shadows, and all supernatural phenomena became part of everyday life. The world is changing, and so are its inhabitants: our heroes, vampires, have found their own niche.
CLICKOLDING

A dark interactive story in the genre of an incremental game developed by Strange Scaffold, known for such projects as El Paso, Elsewhere, Life Eater and I Am Your Beast. The game’s plot takes place in a hotel room where you meet a mysterious masked man. It asks you to click on a meter and the more you click, the more it rewards you. But the further you get into the game, the more you realize that everything is not so simple. You have to unravel the mystery of the man in the mask, make difficult choices and find out how your decision will turn out.
Nobody Wants to Die

A noir adventure in New York in 2329, where people have the opportunity to literally buy themselves immortality. With the help of the latest technologies, scientists have learned to transfer human consciousness from one body to another, but the cost of such a service is incredibly high. The main character is detective James Carra, who takes on the investigation of a series of mysterious murders. The dead were representatives of the city elite, who during their lifetime had all the means to ensure immortality for themselves, but someone else decided their destinies. Carra will have to find out who is behind the crimes, using a special device in the investigation that allows her to look into the past right at the scene of the murder.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

Soulslick action game, which takes place in a fantasy world called Kian. The gods, locked in the Great Abyss, broke free and now, together with the army of the dead, threaten all living things. And the main character, the brave warrior Nor Vanek, strives to prevent this and therefore sets off on a dangerous journey to fight the aggressors. The battles here are in many ways reminiscent of the battles from other soulslikes and require the player to dodge enemy attacks in time. The main gameplay feature is that Nor can use both magic and firearms in battle.
Dungeons of Hinterberg

Dungeons of Hinterberg is set in the alpine village of Hinterberg, around which 25 magical dungeons have recently appeared – monster slaying has become the main tourist attraction of this picturesque place. Players will take on the role of trainee lawyer Louise, who traded the benefits of city life for a search for adventure. Armed with a sword and a guide, the heroine will explore Hinterberg and the secret magic hidden within it.
Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus

Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus received positive reviews from critics for its charming atmosphere, clever puzzles, and cute character designs.
Vampire Therapist
