Devil May Cry 5 is definitely a step back in the right direction after the miss that was DMC4. But if I’m being as honest as I can be about the new blockbuster action game, I feel it’s just “good”, not great. It’s […]

Holy cow. How come I never knew this game was so simple, yet so addictive, and replayable? Trials, as a series, has been around now for some time. I remember going to a few PAXes and seeing the Ubisoft booth […]

Man, Nintendo sure knows how to make something purely delightful. This weekend, between bouts of Trials Rising addiction (full review coming soon), I managed to download and partake of the short but sweet Yoshi’s […]

    • But where’s the “crafting”?

    • we have this preordered. The demo was super fun and my kids are really looking forward to it. This is actually the first game (demo) my 4 year old could pick up and play without help of any kind.

Far Cry 5 was one of my favorite games of 2018. Like many, I did not expect a sequel to be coming this month, and what’s more, is that I did not expect it to be so damned good. Refining on the systems of Far […]

  • God Eater as a series has alway been the “Sci-Fi Anime” cousin to Monster Hunter. AGEs go out and hunt down Aragami to keep the world at large safe from their monstrous invasions. Over time, the narrative has […]

  • If you’re like me, you didn’t get a chance to fall in love with the Yakuza series until recent entries like Yakuza 0. So when SEGA announced its intentions to remake and refine the original games under the titles […]

  • Finally, nearly a year later, I finished the story of Far Cry 5 last night. I remember around launch that a bunch if spoiler-free articles and hottakes came out decrying th ending of the game. So before we go […]

  • The Tales of series has long been one of my favorites, thanks to the stunning implementation of its linear action battle system way back in Tales of Phantasia on the SNES. Tales of Symphonia is still one of the […]

    • I missed this game the first time around. I really am enjoying it on my switch. It’s one of the best jrpgs it has. I haven’t experienced the bad translations yet. In fact, I find most of the conversations to be well written and entertaining. Really glad I picked it up.

  • Kingdom Hearts 3 is a narrative mess, and just one of the most incongruous things I’ve ever played. But it’s also one of the most fun RPGs I’ve put my hands on in recent years, filled with utter joy and a clear […]

  • Wargroove is the perfect game for those thousands of folks who wish Nintendo would get around to making a new Advance Wars. In fact, in pretty much all ways possible, it’s far superior to that cult classic […]
