Medieval Dynasty Update Adds New Resources & Buys A Donkey

Medieval Dynasty, the empire building survival sim from Toplitz just dropped a new update that includes mining, smelting, and donkeys.

Players dabbling in Early Access and trying to survive long enough to build an economic powerhouse will find some new avenues to greatness in the latest Medieval Dynasty update. The dark age economic adventure from Toplitz Productions has just received its fourth major roadmap update. This time around developer Render Cube has dropped in a whole bunch of resources, providing new ways for layers to build and redevelop their homestead from the ground up. In addition to iron, tin and copper can no be found buried beneath the earth. The mining systems outlined in the recent developer preview are a mix of difficulty. While copper and tin are scattered about natural caves, iron is far more precious and means building mines and smelting that hard earned resource out. Smelting also allows for some variation, combining elements to make bronze and allowing local blacksmiths to ply their trade in new and ingenious ways and add a whole new set of hammers, sickles, knives, bolts, arrows and more to the game.

The highlight of this update is, of course, the new and noble steed that will hopefully drive trade and commerce on a wider scale, the humble donkey. While horses are already available in Medieval Dynasty, players looking for a more budget friendly equestrian addition to their empire can get in at the ground floor with a slower but more economical investment that can also lug more weight. When speed isn’t everything, the donkey is a great option.

This new update is just the latest Early Access to Medieval Dynasty, probably the most interesting entry in Toplitz’s Dynasty series of simulation titles. After throwing us back into the dark ages and mixing survival sims with economic systems, the team behind this first person adventure added everything from beekeeping to brewing. This seems to be just the beginning, with a full year of updates ahead and launch not even nailed down yet.
