Square Enix and People Can Fly have scored a huge hit with Outriders, a solo or cooperative PvE third-person shooter. In fact, the companies are so keen on the game that they have announced that it’s “on track to become the company’s next major franchise”. It makes sense because Square also revealed that over 3.5 million unique players have blasted their way into the game since its launch on April 1, 2021.
According to Square’s Jon Brooke, the average player has logged over 30 hours in the game, and that there is an “extremely high engagement (level) for cooperative play”. He continues, “Launching a new game IP is never easy and we remain very grateful for the community’s support and feedback — we continue to listen carefully and want to assure everyone that we are committed to improving and enhancing the experience in the coming weeks and months. We also look forward to expanding on Outriders in the future.”
Outriders is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. Check out the official site to learn more.
