PNY Unveils XLR8 CS3150 NVMe Gen 5 Solid State Drive

PNY has just announced a new flagship entry in the world of PCIe Gen 5 storage, the XLR8 CS3150 NVMe Solid State Drive. Set to arrive in December in both 1TB and 2TB capacities, the CS3150 will be capable of blazing-fast PCIe Gen 5 speeds, with sequential reads of up to 12,000 MB/s and writes of up to 11,000 MB/s. The CS3150 also takes advantage of Microsoft Direct Storage to enable the fastest load times in supported games. Pricing will start at $179.99 for the 1TB model.

Gen 5 SSDs are susceptible to overheating, so PNY is shipping the XLR8 CS3150 with an integrated dual fan heatsink to maximize airflow for longer sustained performance. Produced under PNY’s PC gamer and enthusiast brand, XLR8, the CS3150’s heatsink will be available in three options to fit any gaming aesthetic: black, white, or black with RGB. Additionally, the RGB version will fall under PNY’s VelocityX software, allowing users to coordinate RGB lighting with other PNY kit, like the PNY XLR8 Gaming DDR5 DRAM and PNY GeForce RTX 4080 16GB XLR8 Gaming VERTO EPIC-X RGB Triple Fan.
