Microsoft has published a list of games that will be available for free to users of Xbox Live Gold service in June. Xbox One owners can look forward to indie multiplayer racing game Speedrunners as well as Watch Dogs. Xbox 360 players will be able to try out Assassin’s Creed III as well as Bioware’s classic Dragon Age: Origins. These titles will also be available to XBox One users through backwards compatibility program.
- Speedrunners (June 1st through June 30th). A cut-throat multiplayer running game that pits 4 players against each other, locally and/or online. Run, jump, swing around, and use devious weapons and pick-ups to knock opponents off-screen! One of the most competitive games you’ll ever play.
- Watch Dogs (June 16th through July 15th). Set in a fictionalized version of Chicago, Illinois, the game centers around Aiden Pearce, a highly skilled grey hat hacker who can hack into any device within in the city, taking hold of the entire city’s infrastructure, either to obtain and control information or to destroy such devices completely at specific times.
- Assassin’s Creed III (June 1st through June 15th), The American Colonies, 1775. As a Native American assassin fights to protect his land and people, he will ignite the flames of a young nation’s revolution.
- Dragon Age: Origins (June 16th through June 31st). You are a Grey Warden, one of the last of a legendary order of guardians. With the return of an ancient foe and the kingdom engulfed in civil war, you have been chosen by fate to unite the shattered lands and slay the archdemon once and for all.
What is Games with Gold?
Xbox One as well as Xbox 360 users can sign up for a premium version of Xbox Live service, namely Xbox Live Gold. It comes with features such as online games with other people; special matchmaking system; chat with multiple users at a time. Additionally, Xbox Live Gold users get demo-versions ahead of those of non-premium service.
