Developer Blizzard Entertainment has taken to the official site with end-of-year update regarding the company’s projects and policies. According to the message, 2022 has been a great year for Blizzard that was made possible by the hard work, creativity and passion from everyone who works there.
“About 12 billion hours of Blizzard games were played this year, and as many as 50 million new players joined the Blizzard community, and this would not have been possible if not for the passion from the people within Blizzard. We’re hearing from them that there is a fundamental shift happening, and it’s the thousands of people who work here who are steering this ship toward something greater than we’ve ever been—and we’ve only just begun.”
Additionally, the company has confirmed that BlizzCon is coming back next year. Stay tuned for more news!
Meanwhile, publisher Activision revealed an overview of the latest beats from everyone’s favorite games in December 2022, including Diablo IV, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Overwatch 2 and more:
- Diablo IV – release date revealed, the game is coming on June 2023. Pre-purchase any edition to get early access to the open beta;
- World of Warcraft: Dragonflight – Season 1 started, The Vault of the Incarnates raid opened, new battle pass-like feature Trading Post announced;
- Diablo Immortal – first post-launch zone Stormpoint added, three additional Hell Difficulties are now available in the latest major update;
- Overwatch 2 – the game is celebrating the Winter Wonderland between now and January 4th;
- Diablo II Resurrected – as a part of the Nights of Terror event, enjoy festive gameplay modifiers and tackle daily demonic trickery in pursuit of powerful loot;
- Call of Duty – drop into Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare II Season 01 Reloaded;
- Hearthstone – Winter Veil returns to the tavern. Log in between now and January 31st to receive 10 free Card Packs and complete the Winter Veil Event for additional rewards. Participate in two new Tavern Brawls and unwrap a free Battle Bash!
- WoW Classic – finish leveling a character, create a new one, or invite friends to join in on your adventures and take advantage of 50% experience gains until January 16.
