Chrono Odyssey Will get A Global Release Thanks To Kakao

Chrono Odyssey

Chrono Studio has announced that its open world action MMORPG Chrono Odyssey will get a global release, thanks to Korean publisher Kakao Games.

MMORPG fans can add yet another epic quest to their journal soon. The publisher behind Archeage, CookieRun, and way more has confirmed that it will bring next generation MMORPG Chrono Odyssey to a global audience. Due to head onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC sometime in the near future, this new addition to the Kakao library is an astoundingly beautiful MMO powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 5.

Featuring far more than just Unreal’s incredible graphics, a vast and seamless open world beckons to be explored. The grass, snow lands, and swamps of that stretch out into the yonder come littered with dangers. Heroes willing to face everything that comes their way will wield a variety of weapons that can help them even overcome massive dragons, deep dungeons, and raids. A dynamic action combat system mans that skill should be just as important as power when trying to overcome these challenges, although a unique time twisting mechanic might also be useful.

Players will gain access to a “Chronotector.” This artifact allows players to stop time around monsters or rewind a character’s time, enabling a different approach to combat. You can explore past generations of the open world before environmental and historical events made sweeping changes to the land of Chrono Odyssey, or hopefully just avoid the head.

Kakao hasn’t released a ton of solid detail about the world, what apocalyptic threat we will be facing, or even what weapon’s we will wield to take it down. It’s all very dark fantasy with very shiny armor. While Kakao has pledged comprehensive support in localization, marketing, and community engagement to ensure the success of Chrono Odyssey in international markets, I’d take this new as notice to put it on your radar before overhyping anything. A GDC 2024 trailer dropped for the title over on PlayStation, so you can at least see how much polish you’ll need for your battle axe. Check out more on the Chrono Odyssey Steam page now.
