The developers of Wuthering Waves, the upcoming cross-platform, open-world action RPG, have taken to the official site to share their conclusions based on player feedback from CBT2. After careful consideration, the team from Kuro Games finalized their plans for future adjustments and optimizations.
Check out the official site to see the full lengthy review, or proceed down below for a quick list of changes coming to the game!
- Combat will see the issue of poor sound effects and hit feedback addressed. The team will revamp the sound effects of weapon hit feedback, Echo Skills, Resonance Skills, and other battle aspects.
- Jumping will be improved by adjusting animation speed, camera transitions, and landing feedback to make it feel more natural.
- Lingyang and Jianxin’s movesets will get adjusted for an elevated combat experience; Verina’s HP restoration mechanism will get a similar treatment;
- The team from Kuro Games will introduce new Combat Skill Practicing Dungeons where players can familiarize themselves with characters’ unique combat mechanics and practice how to combo;
- The developers are aware of and have started working on other frequently reported issues, such as bad camera experiences, frequent lock-on loss, enemies quitting combat, and counterattack failures.
When it comes to gameplay, Wuthering Waves will pay close attention to the Echo System and add new content for “Depths of Illusive Realm”. Here are some of the devs’ plans:
- Make it easier to obtain various Echoes;
- Provide a better way to dispose of unused or redundant Echoes;
- Return Turners when Tuned Echoes are consumed;
- Make it easier to get your desired Substats;
- Optimize the auto-equip Echoes mechanism;
- Tutorial stage for “Depths of Illusive Realm”;
- More playable characters, new high-difficulty events and special boss mechanisms for “Depths of Illusive Realm”;
The team is also hard at work on the frequently reported issues about story cutscenes & animations, including strange camera positionings, characters showing up at the wrong time, poorly matched lip animations, and lack of detail in story sound effects. Other reported issues include crashes, blank screens, frame drops, and device overheating. The team currently prioritizes improving game performance on all devices while also improving the Character and Environment Designs and adjusting the UI for easier navigation.
Last but not least, the team restated its commitment to further improve localization quality. Additionally, there will be N/JP/KR voice-overs for stories and character voicelines.
These are our future adjustments and optimizations based on the feedback we received during CBT II. These are our future adjustments and optimizations based on the feedback we received during CBT II. We apologize for any deficiencies or unsatisfactory content in the beta test build. The development team is committed to addressing these issues and prioritizing areas that were less enjoyable for players. Our goal is to bring you an even better version of Wuthering Waves next time.
