Titan Forge Games has revealed a new god in the SMITE 2 pantheon, the Greek goddess Hecate. What makes her unique is that she is the first god created exclusively for SMITE 2 and joins the initial roster of Gods coming to the award-winning MOBA’s sequel. In this new developer video diary, the team discusses how using Unreal Engine 5 offered greater influences when creating her unique abilities, character design, and visual effects.
Hecate’s abilities are enhanced by UE5, as seen in “Traverse Worlds,” which literally changes the visual design of the world for her and any enemy Gods hit by it. Spell Eater allows her to charge an Orb during battles before unleashing damage based on the number of allied and enemy abilities cast near it.
