EA and DICE have revealed many details coming to Battlefield 2042 when players head off to nature-stricken Czechia. Season 5: New Dawn will launch on June 7th, bringing a wide array of new content to fans of the game. This includes a brand new map, weapons, gadgets, and quality-of-life improvements sure to please anyone.
As with any new season, players will have a new Battle Pass to tackle, with 100 new tiers of content to unlock. The Premium Battle Pass offers players even more cosmetic items to unlock. For those who own the Year 1 Battle Pass, an Epic skin and an XP booster that lasts the first two weeks of Season 5 are special gifts from the dev team.
Developers released a new trailer to showcase the new Reclaimed map and some other new content coming in Season 5.
Reclaimed takes place in “nature-stricken Czechia,” a fictional country ravaged by war. The battle occurs over a secret train route where players must work with their squads to survive. The Crash Site is where the action goes down and includes vehicle combat. The Landing Zone, however, is a close-quarters combat zone thanks to being located in a forest area. The Abandoned Tunnel and Military Warehouse offer a variety of experiences, including verticality and narrow space layouts.
New weapons include
- the high-precision XCE Bar bolt action rifle with an expanded attachment capability
- the GWE-46 offers stability with short-burst fire for medium-range fights
- the BFP.50 hand cannon for heavy close-range damage
- the Phalanx CIWS
- the Spring, Anti-tank, and Mini-grenades for a variety of detonation opportunities
In addition to all this content, several new quality-of-life additions will be arriving in Season 5, including a new Squad Management system that allows players to manage and tailor their squad, a vehicle loadout rework that will enhance battlefield roles, reworked Vault Weapons, as well as the introduction of new Thermal Tech and Heavy Anti-Air weapon stations. Players can continue to define their roles in Season 5 with the recent Class System Update which assigns Specialists into one of four classic and familiar classes: Assault, Engineer, Recon and Support.
