Apex Legends Celebrates Four Years with the Game-Changing Revelry Update

Apex Legends Revelry Update Release

Respawn Entertainment and EA have announced that the Revelry update has been deployed into Apex Legends. This is, according to developers, the most significant update in the game’s four-year history. It brings several important and game-changing updates to players, including a retooled new player experience and overhauls to every Legend in the game. Legends have been reclassified into the new Class System, and Team Deathmatch brings competitive players an entirely new way to shine.

According to a recent blog, developers are keen to shake things up and reset the meta. The goal is to make Apex Legends more accessible and fun for both new and veteran players.

With that goal in mind, the post starts with the news that Legends will be divided into five classes: Assault, Recon, Skirmisher, Controller, and Support. Players will be able to opt for the class playstyle that best suits their personal preferences. According to developers, each class will have some meaningful and unique perks. In addition, new buffs and nerfs to several Legends will be deployed. Look for big changes to Lifeline, Seer, and Wrath. Developers will have more to say over the coming days.

Components of the Revelry update include:

  • Team Deathmatch is coming to Apex Games for the first three weeks of the season
  • Mixtape is a new permanent modes playlist featuring a rotation of TDM, Gun Run, and Control
  • The Nemesis is a new energy weapon that will hopefully “unseat favorite standbys like the R-301 and Flatline”
  • The first-time player experience has been overhauled
  • The Anniversary Collection Event will take place in February: “We’re celebrating with the Anniversary Collection Event featuring an all-new community content reward track. These include login rewards during the first two weeks of the season. Week 1 will feature Crypto unlocked and one Crypto Thematic pack. Week two unlocks Ash plus one Ash Thematic pack for all players. Every map in the rotation will have special decorations. We’ll have the return of a fan favorite that we’ll reveal closer to the launch.”
