Kakao will take on publishing duties, while XLGames and Jake Song will handle the game’s development. According to press information, the sequel to the first game is targeting a 2024 launch.
XLGAMES’ CEO, Jake Song: “We are happy to join forces with Kakao Games with whom we’ve worked for a long time. We hope to create a high-quality game that remains faithful to the core elements that make MMORPGs fun — especially for all the ArcheAge players who have been waiting for a sequel.”
While we know that AA2 is coming, neither Kakao nor XLG were ready to reveal any details about it. Some fans are speculating whether it will be set in the far future from the events of the first game. Others wonder if it will continue from the point where AA has left off.
