The Epic Games Store site has been updated with a retrospective look back at 2020 and all we can say is that it was EPIC. The company scored big with players as they were locked away during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to sheer volume, EGS also revealed the platform’s most popular games, most of which, by the way, will come as no surprise.

Without further ado, here are a few of the more astonishing stats:

  • 160,000,000 PC users with 56M+ monthly active users in December
  • $700M revenue generated by players purchasing things from EGS
  • 103 free games were offered valued at $2,407. 749M players laid claim to them.

The most popular games include:

  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Satisfactory
  • Fortnite
  • Snow Runner
  • Godfall
  • Borderlands 3
  • Rocket League
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2
  • Grand Theft Auto 5
  • Rogue Company

Over the course of the past year, the EGS team has been hard at work to add new features including:

  • Open Critic Reviews
  • Self-Service Refunds
  • 19 new Currencies
  • Direct Carrier Billing in numerous countries
  • Offline Sign-In
  • Launcher performance improvements (Big help for Mac)
  • Improved browsing for Add-On content

The team also has big plans for 2021:

  • Wishlist Improvements
  • Social Overhaul

  • Player Profiles
  • Emoticons
