The developers of MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV have announced that Xbox Series X|S players will be able to adventure through Eorzea starting Spring 2024. The game is set to launch in open beta as a part of the Patch 6.5x series.
When the game launches, Xbox Series players will be able to enjoy fast loading times while Xbox Series X also supports 4K resolution, making Eorzea come to life like never before. Additionally, Final Fantasy XIV Expanded Free Trial will be coming to the platform. What it means is that players will be able to explore the entirety of A Realm Reborn (the vanilla version) as well as Heavensward and Stormblood up to level 70 with no playtime restrictions.

In other Final Fantasy XIV news, the developers have announced the newest expansion Dawntrail. The expansion will act as a sort of new beginning for FFXIV. Are you ready for a refreshing vacation?
The release is planned for Summer 2024. The events of Dawntrail take place in a “New World” known as Tural that lies over the ocean to west of Eorzea. Warriors of Light will receive a very special guest. Winds of opportunity bring a visitor from the new world, seeking the Warrior of Light’s aid in a rite of succession to determine Tural’s next ruler.
Here are some highlights from the upcoming expansion:
- Increased level cap (90 -> 100);
- Two new jobs;
- New dungeons & Raids;
- New gear & recipes;
- PvP update;
- Eyeglasses & two dyes per gear piece;
- Furnishing limit increase;
- Free trial will be extended to include Stormblood;
- Ongoing graphical update.
