Marvel Midnight Suns, the much hyped tactical adventure from Firaxis Games, is being delayed until further into 2022.
In an unexpected, but hopefully positive move, Firaxis Games announced that the upcoming marvel title Midnight Suns will be delayed. In a statement over on Social Media, jake Solomon, Creative Director, and Garth DeAngelis, Senior Franchise Producer, confirmed that Midnight Suns will not see the light of day until 2022. While this means putting your expectations on ice, this is hardly a Cap scenario. The delay isn’t particularly long in game development scales and the team is pushing back to ‘make this the best game possible.’

After an announcement trailer back in August 2021 featuring characters like Wolverine, Nico, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Ghost Rider it was clear Midnight Suns was an altogether spookier adventure than we’ve seen from Marvel games in the past, and the hype was palpable. However, Midnight Suns is an unusual entry in the Marvel gaming franchise. It leaps past the traditional action combat creations of games like Marvel Future Revolution or Guardians of the Galaxy and plays a tactical deck instead. It also takes a ton of inspiration from the 1990s comic book series Rise of the Midnight Sons, where Hydra has raised Lilith, the mother of all demons. In this retelling, players will inhabit a new hero who happens to be the child of Lilith and the only person who can kill her. This mix of comic focused narrative and card based tactical combat makes it a proposition we’re eager to get our class into.
Unfortunately, that won’t be in March 2022 as planned. Instead, it will be sometime in late 2022. Until then it’s off to catch the Eternals and all the other comic book news today.

Uggh, one I’m of course looking forward to.
