Flexispot Comhar Pro Standing Desk Review

If you’ve been in the market for a standing desk, Flexispot has a huge lineup just waiting to be devoured. While they’re a bit on the pricier side, there are a lot of fantastic features . Flexispot sent us over a sample of their Flexispot  Comhar Pro Standing Desk to give it a try and let you know what we think. Previously, we gave the Flexispot Comhar All-in-One Standing Desk  a go, so I’m looking forward to the new features that the Comhar Pro brings. Keep on reading to find out our first impressions!

Arrival & Packaging

Flexispot Comhar Pro Standing Desk

Spoiler alert-I’ll get right to the point. I love this desk. At first, I thought I wouldn’t. When two full boxes the size of me and (what felt like) equally-as-heavy showed up at the front door of my apartment I was almost sure that I could feel the color draining from my face. Readers of my other reviews know that I live by myself, with the exception of my fluffy calico cat Cinnamon – and she wasn’t going to be of any use moving these things into my living room.

These packages are extremely heavy, and looking at the specifications on the website, it’s supposed to be about 75 lbs. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot, but in the moment I felt like I was dying. Save yourself some back pain and stress and get a friend to help you out; especially if you have to lug this up a flight a stairs like I did!

So, with my adorable assistant supervising while I recovered from the floor, I started looking at the parts made available to us. The Flexispot Comhar Pro Standing Desk Q8 didn’t come with a bow or any extra frills or fancy packaging, but it did arrive securely packed with tons of extra cardboard and foam. Even though the delivery service did a bang-up job on the box, everything inside was unscathed and accounted for. As with most self-assembly products, there is a plastic bag that contains all your small screws and pieces, two differing sizes of allen wrenches, and an included phillips screwdriver. A solid assortment of tools for those that may not have any of their own!

Assembly

Once I got to assembly, everything was smooth sailing. Instructions were easy enough to follow with a large instruction manual and black and white pictures to explain the process. In fact, assembly is insanely easy once you get all the pieces spread out and know what you’re looking at. It took me far less time to assemble the desk than it did to drag it up the stairs. There is very little plastic (if any) in sight, and all the pieces felt very solid and heavy. My aching back can attest to this.

With the Comhar Pro Standing Desk fully assembled, the first thing I wanted to try out was the standing feature to make sure it worked. The Flexispot Comhar Pro has four presets that you can set with an easy to reach touch-to-control panel. By pressing the up and down arrows, I was able to adjust the desk height and use one of the preset buttons to save it for later. With multiple presets saved, all you have to do is press one button to go from standing to sitting.

I couldn’t find any information on the sound decibels for the motor, but it is considerably quiet. I don’t think this would disturb any coworkers in an office setting, as it is a smooth, quiet lift with just a gentle motor sound. There is also a handy collision feature, so the desk is able to detect any filing cabinets and stops short before it can cause any damage.

Charging Capabilities

You can program at least four height settings with the control panel. It also has two charging ports!

One of my favorite features about this desk is the handy charging ports. There are three distinct ways to charge different devices with the Flexispot Comhar Pro. On the control panel where you can adjust the height of the desk there are both Type A and Type C ports so you can charge a variety of devices. I personally like to use this port for charging my wireless headset so I can keep working and have the freedom of movement since the port is right beside me.

On the top of the durable bamboo finish is a wireless charging area that is phenomenal for keeping your phone charged. Unfortunately for me, I use a case for my phone so the signal doesn’t seem to reach through. I’ve had this issue with other charging pads in the past and I have just come to accept that I have to take out my phone at this point. Placing the case in front of me and laying the phone flat against the wireless symbol, my phone can charge passively throughout my day at work and I love that it isn’t taking up a port space. Taking my phone out of its case is worth it though because the wireless area registers as fast charging! If it was slower, I might not bother with it, but I love that it is an actual good quality charging pad.

Weight Capacity

Plenty of room in the Comhar Pro for notebooks, pens, and reference books.

So a big elephant we haven’t talked about yet is how much it can hold. I was dreading the swap between my desks because I don’t like moving my setup around. However, once everything was in place I discovered I had considerably more room with the Comhar Pro than I did on my L shaped desk! There’s something about the added depth that let me stash a few more devices without it feeling cramped. With my giant tower, large curved monitor, lamp, keyboard, and other devices, this standing desk didn’t suffer at all when I moved from standing to sitting. I didn’t even hear so much of a groan as it lifted my setup effortlessly. The weight limit on Flexispot’s website is 220 lbs, and it didn’t seem like it was struggling at all with my current gaming setup. Kudos on the Flexispot team for delivering such a solid product.

Drawers

There is even a nice little pull out drawer that slides out smoothly that I’ve been using to keep my writing tools close at hand. When I’m reviewing indie games, I can pull out my notebook and pen from the drawer underneath. When I’m done, I just slide it right back and it keeps my diskspace neat and tidy.

Cable Management

Any cable management is welcome cable management.

Any cable management is welcome cable management.

The last feature I am genuinely enthused about is the cable management tray. While I will probably look for just a few more sticky brackets in the future to keep them from dragging, I love that there is an included tray to help keep your cords nice and tidy. Look, I’m not the best at cable management in the world. I’ve been living like an absolute savage the last coupe of years when it comes to tangled cables until I learned about the wonders of Amazon cable management kits: quick, easy, and cheap. With that being said, I may still invest in those cable management kits so that I can make my space look a little nicer.

Overall Feel

Using the Flexispot’s Comhar Pro felt like an absolute dream. There was no stress or strain involved in the process of moving back and forth between standing and sitting. Having a standing desk when a raid is going on a bit too long, or you need to meet some deadlines on your writing is just a fantastic feeling.  Everything on the desktop is very secure, though I do notice a slight bit of monitor wiggling when I start typing. This is something that is probably unavoidable on any standup desk. The Flexispot Q8 Standing desk is available now via the UK and US Flexispot site from £699.99 / $799.99 or local equivalent.

Summary
Overall, I absolutely love the Comhar Pro Standing Desk. It is currently going for $799 USD on the Flexispot website, but I think it might be genuinely worth the price. Everything about the desk is solid, and it didn’t feel like they cheaped out on any specific pieces. I love how sturdy the legs feel, as well as the bamboo desktop. The control panel is easy to use without having to smash your fingers against the buttons, and the wireless charging pad utilizes fast charging for your devices. With the smooth dual motor and its quiet nature, this desk would be a fantastic addition to any work space.
