EA and DICE have announced the commencement of the latest in-game event in Battlefield 2042. The Arkangel Directive will run from July 11-25, 2023 and offers players a new game mode, cosmetics to collect, and premium store items to explore.
During the event, players become part of the Arkangel Legion, a private military branch of a large corporation. Theoretically, it is “a neutral enterprise at the service of all nations, invested in the betterment of humanity through the application of robotics and AI technologies.”
Gameplay during the event centers around the 24×24 game mode, Control. This event will be available on the Reclaimed, Orbital, and Valparaiso maps. Players must take and hold rotating objectives while vital “tactical telemetry” is uploaded. Teams that collect the most telemetry during each match win. That means earning Ascension Points used to purchase vehicles.
Of course, no in-game event is worth its salt without all sorts of goodies to earn. Players can take home Ribbons that unlock themed gameplay rewards. These include backgrounds, charms, weapon skins, headgear, and more. The Store also has a trio of special bundles for purchase.
