Battlefield 2042 Season 7: Turning Point Adds New Maps, Weapons, and More

EA and DICE have announced that Battlefield 2042 has been updated to bring Season 7: Turning Point into live service. The new season promises players tons of new content including a pair of new maps, several new weapons, a new gadget, and a new vehicle.

EA is offering a pretty cool incentive to entice lapsed season pass holders back into the game. Year 1 Season Pass holders (Seasons 1-4) who did not play Seasons 5 and 6 will receive all hardware from both seasons plus an XP boost just for logging in now that Season 7 has launched. That’s a pretty sweet deal!

In addition, anyone who’d like to try BF2042 can do so thanks to a free access event that kicks off on Thursday, March 21st and runs through Sunday, March 24th. Event players can check out Season 7 for free.

Season 7 features

  • New Maps
    • Haven – Season 7’s brand new map, bringing the battle to the Atacama Desert in Chile. Haven’s urban warfare-based setting features a mix of infantry & vehicle combat and is inspired by favorites from Battlefield’s long history, including Arica Harbor (Bad Company 2), Strike At Karkand (Battlefield 2), and Amiens (Battlefield 1).
    • Stadium – Coming later in Season 7 is a new, infantry-only experience featuring intense close-quarters combat that is playable on Breakthrough, Conquest, Rush, Team Deathmatch, and Free For All. One of the community’s most highly requested additions, the Stadium was formerly part of the Hourglass map before its revisit and has been transformed into a standalone map with an updated look.
  • New Weapons
    • AK 5C – This assault rifle offers an excellent balance of firepower and accuracy, making it the perfect partner for close-quarters combat.
    • SCZ-3 – This deadly submachine gun is a devastating option for close-quarters combat that stings, especially when equipped with a drum magazine to give players even more time before their next reload.
    • DFR Strife LMG – Debuting later in Season 7, this unique weapon offers the best of both worlds – equipped with belt-fed ammo, the DFR Strife offers players an LMG’s magazine size and suppressive quality while retaining the mobility of an assault rifle.
  • New Gadget
    • Predator SRAW – A classic staple from Battlefield’s history returns. This anti-vehicle launcher’s wire-guided missile will help players disable and eliminate both land and air vehicles.
  • New Vehicle
    • XFAD-4 Draugr – Keep your eyes on the sky with this cutting-edge remote-controlled aerial bomber arriving later in Season 7, featuring advanced precision-guided ordinance – including EMP bombs and radar-guided missiles.
