Darkest Dungeon II Updated with the Free Chirurgeon's Table DLC

Red Hook Studios has announced the release of the free Chirurgeon’s Table DLC for Darkest Dungeon II. Developers call this a “themed update” with new locations, minibosses, champion enemies, overhauled systems, and more. In addition, players will be happy to hear that gamepad and Steam Deck support are now live.

Chirurgeon’s Table features

  • The Collector is back! This highly requested mini-boss returns, hunting down wealth…and heads!
  • The Gaunt Chirurgeon! This mini-boss was designed with the help of a Darkest Dungeon II superfan named Sam, through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Gaunt Chirurgeon will have his own unique location, The Chirurgeon’s Table, that can appear in any region. Battle here to win unique rewards!
  • Test your prowess against a host of new Champions! These elite enemies will randomly appear in battle as you carve your path to the Mountain.
  • Enjoy comprehensive updates to the Infernal Flame and general torch system. The goal here is to build upon the existing systems and provide additional flavor, identity, and strategy for players wanting more challenge.

Developers also revealed a number of things they’re working on in preparation for the next updates.

  • Origin skins
  • Mod support
  • QoL improvements
  • Improvement in the sense of agency and dynamism (reduce some areas of RNG)
  • More variety and replayability

For the next several days, Darkest Dungeon II is 25% off on Steam. In addition, the Crown bundle is being brought back at a steep discount and with an even bigger discount if a buyer already owns DD1.

  • Darkest Dungeon and soundtrack are 80% off on Steam
  • Darkest Dungeon DLC packs are 50% off on Steam
  • Darkest Dungeon and all DLC packs are 60% off on Switch
  • Darkest Dungeon: Ancestral Edition is 68% off on Switch
  • Darkest Dungeon is 40% off on the App Store.
