It’s finally happened! Dead Island 2 is now available for Xbox and PlayStation consoles and for PC via Epic Games Store. Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver have welcomed everyone to Hell-A where their job is to escape the zombie invasion in one piece.
During the game, players take on the role of any one of several “survivors turned slayers.” These capable characters include Amy, Bruno, Dani, Ryan, Carla, and Jacob. Each one comes with a package of robust abilities and personalities to match. Abilities can further be honed through the Skill Card system that allows players to customize their heroes in a way that suits them best.
Each of these survivors finds that they are immune to the zombie virus, and now humanity’s future is in their hands. As players travel the landscape, they’ll have to fight through hordes of zombies and collect a few friends along the way. The goal is to escape “Hell-A” before the rest of the world is infected by the zombie plague.
With the once prosperous city of LA quarantined thanks to the deadly zombie virus, it’s down to the somehow immune slayer to embark on an epic, gore-filled journey, meet a colorful cast of characters, and explore well-known locations such as Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and the horrifying transformation they’ve undergone following a bite from a zombie.
Players will have access to different environmental effects to experiment with alongside their own odd abilities. There are multiple ways to take out zombies, whether crushing them under a falling wall, shooting them in half, or blowing them up into tiny chunks. Leave a trail of gore behind, and it’s been a successful hunt.
