The developers from Blizzard Entertainment are preparing for the imminent arrival of Diablo IV and its hordes of hellish creatures. Previously the team shared a blog post to outline the post-launch experience such as Seasons, Battle Passes and more. This time, the center of attention is the story. The latest video titled “A New Saga” allows players to learn more about the events unfolding in Sanctuary and the part you will play.

The developers promise that the story in Diablo IV will appeal both to the new players and to the hardcore fans of the series. The events of the game take place 50 years after The Reaper of Souls – the major expansion to Diablo III that told the story of Archangel Malthael and his crusade against the mortals of Sanctuary. The world has not yet totally healed from that tragedy.
And it is in this fragile and broken state that Inarius and Lilith, the father and mother of Sanctuary and the Nephilim respectively, return. And that return may not mean the best for humanity, despite the distant familial connection. The two will once again cross paths, and what was built is now at risk of destruction.
On June 6, 2023, players will be able to traverse an expansive Sanctuary to combat the unremitting darkness enhanced by Lilith’s return. Choose among five classes – Necromancer, Rogue, Barbarian, Sorcerer or Druid – and see if you have what it takes to fight against Hell.
