Rockfish Games has announced that its open-world space opera Everspace 2 will be blasting out of PC early access on April 6, 2023. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will launch in summer 2023. All platform releases will support a dozen languages from launch.
The game’s launch comes after two years of early access work by the development team. This includes listening to player feedback and implementing many of the suggested changes to the game. Six major content updates have been deployed since ES2 opened its early access phase of development. Between now and the April launch of the game, the team is hard at work on the v1.0 version. The plan is to add more enemies, rewards, challenges, catalysts, equipment types, cinematics, perks, customization options, boss fights, and an all-new trading map. And that, according to developers, is just the tip of the iceberg.
In addition to the digital releases of the game on various platforms, Rockfish also announced that a physical edition is in the works. They have partnered with Maximum Games to bring a next-gen physical edition out for both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. More details about what this edition will feature will be announced on April 6th. Fans will be able to pre-order starting that date as well.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that the game is currently $39.99 on Steam, Microsoft Store, and GoG. However, the price will rise to $49.99 on February 20th ahead of the game’s release.
