Amnesia: The Bunker Targets a May Release Date

Amnesia: The Bunker

Frictional Games has announced that Amnesia: The Bunker, the latest in the popular horror series, will launch on May 16, 2023. The game will be available for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation systems.

During World War 1, players take on the role of Henri Clement, a French soldier left behind by his battalion. He finds himself trapped inside an abandoned military bunker. But he’s not alone. As Henri, players navigate the dark maze of the bunker. They will need to use all their skills and resources to survive. The creature chasing them is not the only obstacle players face. The bunker is a labyrinth of twists and turns, filled with traps and other hazards threatening to end the game at every turn.

Developers have promised that The Bunker will bring new elements into the game, including “emergent gameplay” and sandbox elements. Players are charged with exploring an abandoned WWI bunker with nothing but a revolver and a flashlight. Unfortunately, players are hunted by an otherworldly creature intent on taking them out. Players must use cleverness, courage, and the ability to keep calm under pressure to make quick decisions. According to the developers, there are multiple solutions to every task, puzzle, and obstacle in the game.

The Bunker encourages the player to explore and experiment in a semi-open world. They’ll need to use wits and whatever tools are at their disposal to overcome the looming horrors. Players will feel a stressful amount of power in their hands. Every decision will change the outcome of how the game responds as a consequence of the choices made. This new twist in gameplay adds new depths and constant tension to the game, forcing players to create new strategic paths in every playthrough.

Features include:

  • Player choice
  • Unscripted environment
  • Adaptive horrid threats
  • Tactile immersion
  • Absorbing, yet terrifying, tale
  • Engrossing atmosphere and tension
