DICE developers have taken to the Battlefield 2042 site to give players a peek into Season 6 and the Redux interim content that can send players on a nostalgic (and lucrative!) journey back to some of their favorite moments.
Season 6 is now confirmed to launch in October 2023 and devs have plans to provide a lot more information about what’s in store. However, there are a lot of weeks between then and now. Fortunately, the team has big plans to reengage players with content sure to catch anyone’s eye.
Developers have provided a new video update showcasing how Redux content will play out and the rewards players can earn.
Once Season 5 wraps up, players can “relive some of the best moments of the last year.” Players will find new ways to play across their favorite modes and maps. Along the way, they’ll earn returning and new weekly rewards. However, the twist is that the modes won’t return as they were. According to the new blog post, the team listened to player feedback so they can “expect refined modes every week on more maps and with new player counts.”
Redux features
- Returning game modes including Rush Chao XL, Tactical Conquest, Breakthrough Chaos, Conquest Assault, Shutdown, and more
- The Liquidators, Battle of Nordvik, and Leviathan Rising Limited Time events and their modes will make a return
- There will be a new, dedicated progression track to earn Ribbons to unlock rewards but devs are making earning them easier and faster. ALL official game modes in All-Out Warfare and Battlefield Portal will allow players to unlock rewards and progress towards other rewards.
- Rewards include character, vehicle, and weapon skins. Some previous Store content will be earnable.
