HoYoverse, the developers behind upcoming projects Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Star Rail, have shared a new character teaser for Genshin Impact. Titled A Just Punishment, it is dedicated to Cyno – a new Electro polearm-wielding character arriving in version 3.1: King Deshret and Three Magi.
Cyno, Judicator of Secrets, serves as the General Mahamatra in charge of supervising the researchers of the Akademiya. It is said that when he gets down to work, the General Mahamatra is even more efficient than the “Great Vayuvyastra” made by the Kshahrewar.
“There is a story circulating among the researchers of the Akademiya:
Once, a researcher who ran afoul of the Akademiya fled into the desert and fell into a deep sand pit because he was unfamiliar with the harsh environment. Thirsty and exhausted, he prayed for a noble savior to save him from his predicament. So, the General Mahamatra who has been tracking him responded to his wish. Both sides got what they wanted, what a wonderful story.”
Version 3.1 will roll out on September 28th, introducing a bunch of new content and characters to the game. If you missed the official trailer for the update, you can check it out below. Among other interesting glimpses of what awaits players in the desert part of Sumeru, the trailer also shows Cyno and Alhaitham coming to blows.
