The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia Launches In High Definition 19 October

the hero fights some locals - The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia

The Last hero of Nostalgaia, an absolutely subversive Souls like from publisher Coatsink, launches across XBOX and PC on 19 October.

Developer Over the Moon and publisher Coatsink have just confirmed that heroes old and new can grab a stick and start whacking anything that moves when The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia Launches next month. The action adventure from another time has been hotly anticipated here at gamespace, and anybody who happens to be looking forward to this off the cuff dungeon crawler can pick it up on Xbox and PC soon.

For anybody who hasn’t clocked the low poly plight of Nostalgaia, anybody jumping into this ill fated endeavor will find a realm bereft of upscaled experiences. In a typically fantastical realm of video games, the world is collapsing. The days of bright renders and flashy particle effects are long gone and every particle of this universe is rolling back into pixelated doom. However, one last hope remains. The most hideous pixelated hero ever to spawn to life might still fight though nefarious dungeons and hack down an army of mindless inhabitants to ring bring life back to the world. To be clear, that disgusting walking mess of animated attacks is you.

If you think we’ve been unkind here, then just wait until you get into the game. This title comes complete with its very own dedicated narration. When I say narration, I mean more like disparaging commentary and general derision. Featuring hard but fair content, a streamlined world that holds a wicked tale, plenty of upgrades, an arsenal of weapons, and a sense of humor that takes a knowing swing at the hero worship of other souls-inspired games, The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia has had our attention since we got hands on at WASD, long before we got to chat to the developers about this cunning take on the genre tropes.

If our description hasn’t got you hooked already, a free demo is available on Steam right now, where you can also wishlist this entirely adequate adventure and its astonishingly simple hero, before it arrives next month.

For those of you who I’ve not met yet, my name is Ed. After an early indoctrination into PC gaming, years adrift on the unwashed internet, running a successful guild, and testing video games, I turned my hand to writing about them. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
