Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.1: Into the Yawning Chasm is available now. In addition to an all-new Trailblaze Mission and Cosmodyssey & check-in anniversary events, the game also introduced two brand-new characters. Players throwing their Stellar Jades at the screen during the first phase have a chance to obtain 5-star Lightning Nihility Acheron and 4-star Fire Abundance Gallagher. What better reason than to roll out two new Keeping Up with Star Rail videos, outlining the characters’ abilities?

Starting with the undisputed star of this update and the latest meta-DPS pick: Acheron. She is a Lightning Nihility character that accumulates charges through inflicting debuffs on enemies to unleash her Ultimate. Which in turn ignores enemy Weakness Types, drains all enemies’ Toughness, and reduces their Type RES. This Ranger’s technique can also instantly kill some enemies in the open world.

While Gallagher’s arrival did not go as hard as Acheron’s, he is still an interesting addition to the patch as the first offensive Fire-element healer. Gallagher is a security officer of the Bloodhound Family at Penacony, a slovenly and indolent mixologist. Though unorganized in apparel and casual in how he makes his drinks, he is always courteous toward guests but keeps his vigilance about him.
Gallagher is a support character with offensive capabilities. His Ultimate can attack all enemy targets, causing them to fall into the “Besotted” state while also enhancing Gallagher’s next Basic Attack. When allies attack Besotted enemies, the attacker’s health is restored.
