Vaki Games has announced that Kingshunt has entered Steam early access. In great news for players looking for a 5v5 arena brawler, the game is a free-to-play title for the duration of its early access phase of development.
“After a number of successful closed beta tests and overwhelmingly positive community feedback during the recent Steam Next Fest, we are excited to have Kingshunt enter early access as a free-to-play game,” said Teemu Jyrkinen, CEO of Vaki Games. “We are massive fans of this genre, and as we enter into early access, our goal is to listen intently to our growing playerbase and quickly implement any changes or improvements to the game in collaboration with our community.”
Players find an interesting blend of real-time melee and magic combat crossed with tower and minion spawning. With 15 Summoners to choose from, players will be able to engage with the game in the way that best suits their personal playstyle. Each game consists of two teams of five seeking to conquer the other by controlling strategic locations and/or destroying the enemy base. Early access will feature the “Conquest” game mode that blends lanes, towers, and minions similar to gameplay found in MOBAs. Cross that with capture and hold points similar to Domination games, and Conquest offers players a unique hybrid style of gaming.
Early access features include:
- Third-person action combat – Conquer your enemies in a 5v5 arena that is a hybrid of capture and hold combined with lane-based towers and minions.
- Choose from a roster of Summoners and master their unique set of skills and spells to suit your playstyle.
- In Kingshunt every Summoner has the ability to summon powerful minions and place formidable towers providing true player agency and an unprecedented level of strategic depth not seen in other arena brawlers.
- Unlock powerful runes to add new passives and buffs to your Summoners, customizing your playstyle even further.
