Developer Laps Games and publisher Iceberg Interactive have released the viking-themed strategy with survival elements Land of the Vikings into the Early Access phase. According to the team, the game will benefit from player feedback and community ideas that can be implemented into the title without disturbing its balance.
The current plan is to keep Land of the Vikings in Early Access for roughly a year. Through this time, the game will receive new features, maps, objectives and other types of content while the team works to polish the title and fix bugs. The Early Access version of Land of the Vikings is fully playable and the core features are already present in this build with the average player having over 10 hours of gameplay to discover from start to finish.
Chop trees, plant and grow crops, hunt wildlife, mine ore and fish from the surrounding seas and fjords. From victuals to vikings, manage your resources carefully to ensure you can outlast the winter, and expand your settlement season to season. This land will bring many challenges to your settlement, from earthquakes to fire-starting lightning from the heavens above. Band together and withstand these disasters as best you can.
Each of your villagers is a character in their own right. With 20+ characteristics, your villagers might be powerfully-built strongmen and women or silver-tongued thespians. Pay attention to skills and abilities when assigning your people to a task. Not all Vikings are alike, nor are they equally good at all jobs!
