Latest PUBG Update Brings Arena Mode for Testing

PUBG

PUBG Corp. has announced the latest update to PUBG. Now sitting at v8.3, the Labs portion of the game has been patched to allow testing of the brand new Arena game mode. Arena Mode is a 64-player squad-based match that sends players to one of several sections within the Erangel, Miramar, or Sanhok maps.

During the match, players will battle up to two other squads. Each squad is given three chances to claim victory. A defeat eliminates one chance. Once all three chances are used up, that squad is eliminated from the competition. Winners will move onto the next round. Once three or fewer squads remain the match changes to the Sudden Death Arena where “the winner takes all regardless of how many chances are left”. Arena also offers players a new loadout menu where players can purchase weapons using currency earned by eliminating other players.

Arena Mode will be testable on PC from September 18-21 and from September 25-28. Console players who want to test Arena Mode will be able to do so on September 25-28 and October 2-5.

Update 8.3 also brings a new Ferry system to Erangel, a new item that can temporarily negate Bluezone damage, two new Team Deathmatch stages on Sanhok, a number of bug fixes, and more.
