Reverse: 1999 – Version 1.4 Launches February 29

Developer Bluepoch revealed that time-traveling strategic RPG Reverse: 1999 will be getting its Ancient Greece-themed Version 1.4 on February 29. Titled “The Prisoner in The Cave”, it will introduce up to 80 free pulls for new players, three new powerful arcanists, three original game modes, and a free 5-star character. The team describes it as the most content-heavy update to date.

Version 1.4 also features a major storyline that sees Timekeeper Vertin and arcanist companions traveling to a mysterious island unaffected by the “Storm.”

“An unknown island finally shows itself as the ship sinks. The storm has brought you to a new era, where conspiracies and dark tides await you. Close your eyes, for only through absolute contemplation can truth reveal itself.”

Here’s a quick overview of what awaits you in the new version, kicking off on February 29:

  • Two new characters: 37, a 6-star Star-type arcanist, and hermit 6, a 6-star Intelligence-type arcanist. There will be Character story events for each.
  • Three new gameplay modes: boss rush ‘Mane’s Bulletin’, puzzle-based ‘The Three Doors’ & ‘Anecdote’ featuring the never-before-seen backstories of arcanists Charlie and Oliver Fog
  • Tons of new rewards thanks to two sign-in events & a free 5-star character selector in the “Carnival Invitation” event;
  • New in-game activities
  • And much more!

The developers have already shared the newest trailer dedicated to 37, one of the two new arcanists. 37 is the brightest star of Hermes. Born with her own number, she keeps herself away from the world of phenomena. Her friend ponders as she helps to tidy 37’s tangled hair: Seeking the road to truth is simple; it can be as tangled as 37’s messy hair. But for 37, the genius kissed by truth, these are only trifles.

ABOUT REVERSE: 1999

It was 23:59. December 31, 1999. Out of the gap between the two centuries, a “Storm” poured upwards to the sky. The next second, all the parties, neon signs, and late night buses faded away. The world returned to a strange old era.

This young girl, the “Timekeeper,” the only one immune to the Storm, has witnessed the beginnings and ends of countless eras. During her time travel, she makes friends with arcanists from different times and countries and then guides them … to escape the “Storm.”
