Netflix‘s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender (ATLA) is out, inviting players to join young Aang and his friends as they take on the Fire Nation. In addition to the magical elements of bending, the show features gorgeous lanscapes and the quirky hybrid-animals from the original animated series. The developers have shared a new behind-the-scenes video that delves into the process of bringing these unusual creatures to life.
“The four nations of the world once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world.”
If you are already through binge-watching the new ATLA live-action, and there is entirely not enough Avatar in your life still, consider checking out F. C. Yee’s Chronicles of the Avatar book series. At the moment, it consists of four entries. The first two are dedicated to Kyoshi and her predecessor Kuruk, while the other two delve into the life of the previous Air Nomad Avatar: Yangchen.
Randy Ribay is currently working on a new entry: The Reckoning of Roku, arriving this Summer.
