Netflix is working with a company called Platige Image to bring The Witcher to life. The author of the novels will be working with Netflix as a consultant.
Andrzej Sapkowski to work with Netflix
The books’ author, Andrzej Sapkowski, will be working with the company as an advisor. In the recent past, he has been very critical of the games. We can only hope that he will be happier with the show including its cast and writing.
Sapkowski is quoted as saying, “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing.”
The series’ production company made the announcement on its web site including a few tidbits. It will be a drama in English. Producers include veterans of The Expanse (Jason Brown and Sean Daniel) along with BAFTA winner Tomek Baginski as director.
