Remember Runes of Magic? Well, we can’t really blame you if you’re scratching your heads on this one. We’d pretty much forgotten it, too, though it’s been in service for a long, long time. However, fans and former players of the long-running MMORPG will be thrilled to hear that Gameforge has pushed it back into the limelight for a 15th-anniversary celebration!
To celebrate the momentous occasion, developers have released a Timeless Dungeon, a revamped and updated version of the Mystic Altar, though clearly designed for endgame play this time ’round. The dungeon will make its debut in April when players can explore all the dangers within.
The Timeless Dungeon will offer players new challenges in the form of seven unique bosses. In addition, the dungeon layout has been overhauled to give even the most seasoned players pause as they consider their attacks.
Of course, no dungeon experience is worth its salt without new equipment to make the challenge complete. According to Gameforge, “players can expect a well-thought-out reward system that fits seamlessly into the existing equipment setup of RoM.” That means, players can collect a completely new equipment set over several instances. While these items drop within the encounter, players can also collect Peak Fragments via a special daily quest. Then the currency can be traded for the new equipment set without ever having to set foot in the dungeon. Pretty sweet, eh?
Over the course of the anniversary event, players will gain access to XP and talent boosts, extra item drops, and opportunities to win RoM merch.
