SNES-Mini retro console U.S. release date?

Waiting to grab one of the tiny reproduction consoles in the North American market. Nearly two months ago the U.K. Market made pre-orders available the day an announcement was released. And while the U.S. got no release date, and little to no information, one month ago Walmart opened up pre-orders on this little gem and were sold out within the hour. Sadly, even worse than being one who missed out, if you were one of the lucky few to snag an SNES, you were in for an even bigger disappointment than those left in the dust. As not but an hour later Walmart canceled all the pre-orders calling it a “technical glitch”.

But things may be turning around for us in the U.S. who want an SNES that does not require two cans of keyboard cleaner, a paper clip and the skills of Mcguyver. Sources all over Reddit have been blowing up, especially the minisnes subreddit with “insider information” the last two days as well as twitter and all the usual suspects of the social media “inter-webnet Dotcoms” have been on fire as well. All with reported claims that a North American release date and pre-order availability will be available this weekend. While nothing has been confirmed officially, it would definitely fit into Nintendo’s initially planned timeline. Here’s to keeping our fingers crossed while they click on the refresh button on the sites of the “Big 6” electronics stores. And why wouldn’t they? Even though it’s a preloaded console, individually purchasing all those games and a used console without HDMI and the lack of a warranty, just seems plain silly. Even more so when you peruse the lineup included on the console’s hard drive:
