Anybody looking for a bit of light escapism can expect a serene return to Moominvalley in Hyper Games’ newly announced Snufkin: Return to Moominvalley.

Due to set out into the wilderness on PC and consoles during 2023, this brand new stroll through the iconic Moomin legacy is an open world quest full of magic, music, and beautiful landscapes that fans of the Nordic icons will likely love.

Players venturing into this digital incarnation of the Moomins home will be presented with a symphony of quests and charming characters. Each of the valley’s inhabitants has their own story to tell, weaving together each quest into a rich narrative, inspired by Moomin creator Tove Jansson’s original work.

Along the way, players will need to keep the strict Park Keeper at bay and use their own musical intelligence to bring a strict, and ugly, set of parks to bloom and return the wonderful artbook backdrops to their full glory. With Snufkin’s harmonica, a bit of stealth, and the help of some friends, this shouldn’t take long. It might not quite be Wandersong but it does sound just as charming.

For those of you too young to remeber the Moomins, this Nordic staple is a book to some and cartoon to others. After rising to fame in through a series of comic strips across 1945 – 1980, the Moomins became one of Finland’s biggest exports and a worldwide children’s treasure. If you’re not sure what fate awaits these oddly shaped denizens of Moominvalley, take a look at the trailer for this title and head over to the official Steam Store page now.
