They say that the development continues and the game will be released soon, but this has already stretched for five years and stretches further. But this is no reason to be sad, because the game is really being created, but only a few people are working on it and their budgets are minimal, that’s why the pace of development is so slow. Beyond Good & Evil 2
The first part of this game was released in 2003. Despite good ratings, the game did not achieve big financial success then, so the sequel began to be developed not immediately, but only years later, when the game gained cult status. In 2008, the development of the second part was officially announced, but without completing the development, it was canceled, and the project was closed.
But this was not the end of the series, as the game was revived again in 2017. At the same time, the first full trailer of the second part was shown. The series’ founder then also led the development of the new part. A year after the announcement in 2018, the first full working gameplay was even shown, and then it seemed that already in 2019, the game would be released.
But the black streak of development began. The key developer and CEO left the project, followed by some other developers, so the project was again on the stage of closing and canceling, but it never happened. The head of the studio was replaced, and part of the game concept was completely rethought, and development continues. However, no new trailers were ever shown to us during this time.
As soon as the game is ready, Ubisoft will hold a full demonstration of the redesigned project and show everything to the public. So Beyond Good & Evil 2 will come out, but what this game will be and whether it will have anything in common with the game announced in 2017 is an interesting question.
