Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Shared Combat Survival Guide

Owlcat Games’ turn-based cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is going through its beta phase. The team pointed out that surviving in the 41st Millenium is no easy task and shared the combat survival guide to bring players up to speed.

The blog post offers 11 tips, from more general to more precise: planning your turn, taking note of Momentum, using covers and, of course, facing the Perils of the Warp. Check it out on Steam to learn everything the devs have to share. Have you already taken on the Rogue Trader position? Were there any fights that gave you and your retinue a pause? Let us know in the comments below!

Compared to the previously available alpha, the beta version features much more content, a higher level of polish, more developed systems and more. Players can encounter the new Space Wolf companion, go through an in-depth character creator, use the tutorials to ease into the universe and even tale advantage of Convictions for further roleplay. Dozens of hours of gameplay, new locations, enemies, and intrigues filled with friends and traitors… What are you waiting for?

“The Alpha used to start in Act II, exposing only a fraction of the story and leaving many questions unanswered. The Beta allows you to start from the very beginning, earning your position as a Lord Captain in the Prologue and Act I, continuing through the familiar, but updated Act II, and finally venturing into the dark city of Commorragh, home of the insidious Drukhari, in Act III.”

Owlcat’s other project, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, is going through the second season of expansions. The first DLC of Season Pass 2, The Last Sarkorians, is already out. The game is still awaiting two more, with the release date unknown:

  • DLC#5, The Lord of Nothing, will be a new standalone campaign that picks up where the Through the Ashes story left off. How will Sendri and Reckarth’s journey end? Where will their adventures take them? Will they cross paths with the commander of the Fifths crusade this time? The answers to all these questions await you in the fifth DLC.
  • DLC #6,  A Dance of Masks, will bring the Knight Commander back to Kenabres. During your first visit, things did not go well. Now that the demonic assault has been thwarted, and the crusaders are preparing their final counterattack, why not take a little break? What kind of celebration awaits the Commander and their crew upon their return to Kenabres, and is everything as harmless as it seems at first glance?
