The developers of the upcoming dynamic action game Wild Hearts have taken to Reddit to participate an a community AMA. Over the course of a few hours, the team tackled all sorts of details, from story to gameplay to post-launch content. Follow this link to the discussion or check out the short summary below!
Wild Hearts provides players with a unique twist on the monster-hunting genre. You will be using technology to fight against the “kemono”, ferocious beasts infused with the power of nature itself. You will encounter creatures of all sizes – from plant-infused squirrels to the massive beasts who all have their very unique combat patterns. Take on these creatures alone or hunt with friends in seamless co-op. The hunt begins on February 17, 2023, on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
- Wild Hearts will have post-launch content;
- No microtransactions planned – all post-launch content will be free, including more Kemono & more!
- There will be over 20 Kemono in the game at launch;
- In WILD HEARTS players will start to encounter “Mighty Kemono” mid way through the campaign. These are sort of ‘high rank’ versions of the early Kemono. Players can switch back to the previous world state at any time from the map if they wish to fight the early game Kemono again;
- After completing the campaign players will get a new quest to investigate a new highly dangerous variant of Kemono appearing in the world “Volatile Kemono” which, in turn, will lead players to even more dangerous monsters as a form of endgame;
- Visitors in your world can interact with your Karakuri and build their own. Only the world host has the permissions to proactively destroy Karakuri to avoid toxic behavior;
- The game difficulty will dynamically scale up and down depending on how many hunters are present;
- Multiplayer is peer-to-peer based;
- The team feels like all eight weapons in the game have been well balanced to be viable in all situations, such as the aerial vs ground combat;
- It is a rare thing, but sometimes players will see Kemono fighting each other throughout the game;
- Azuma is made up of 4 large explorable areas that all represent a different season. Players will also be able to explore the hub city Minato and visit some other places that are currently being kept secret;
- You can customize your base Karakuri loadout for combat;
- You will be able to unlock and craft a unique Karakuri in the city of Minato that lets you modify your character’s appearance;
- Players with a subscription to EA Play or GamePass Ultimate will be able to play a 10 hour trial of WILD HEARTS four days early starting on Feb 13th;
“You’ll meet the Tsukumo early in the game, who are little celestial Karakuri beings that can be collected all across the land of Azuma and you can choose one of them to follow you as an A.I. companion in solo play. The Tsukumo can also be upgraded at your camp to support you in different ways during your hunts!”
- There are small creatures in the world that can be captured as pets and give you special rewards via Karakuri enclosures you can build for them;
- Currently no plans for official in-game clans or guilds. However you can set a multiplayer session ‘tag’ and share this with your wider group of friends;
- For both PS5 and XSX WILD HEARTS offers a default performance mode 1080p at 60fps and optional picture quaity mode up to 4k and 30fps;
- The game features a pause option in solo play only;
- Wild Hearts supports cross-play but no cross-progression at the moment;
- The game won’t be supported on the Steam Deck at launch;
- You can pet… the rabbit! Don’t try to pet the ice dogs!
- All large Kemono have different breakable parts that can be carved separately from the Kemono.
