WoW Dragonflight Shared Dracthyr Customization Preview

WoW Dragonflight Shared Dracthyr Preview

Developer Blizzard Entertainment shared a new blog post dedicated to the upcoming World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion. Following a quick overview of the crafting changes, the team turned their attention to the Dracthyr – the new race (and class) arriving with the update.

The new race provides players with a wide variety of customization options, including a number of horn shapes, a diverse color palette to choose from, body shapes, snouts, scales and more.

The developers tried to ensure that no Dracthyr would look the same in their dragon-like form. By playing with the customization, players can create an expressive backstory for their character, picking the resemblance to the dragonflight that is the most appropriate for their chosen hero. The screenshot below and the chart provided in the preview also demonstrate some of the unusual colors that can be used by the new race, including the almost albino tint as well as deep purples reminiscent of Onyxia.

At the moment, Blizzard only shared a brief overview of the draconic forms of the Dracthyr, but those following the development also know that Dracthyr feature a humanoid shape as well. Stay tuned to find out more or check out the expansion reveal to see some of the previously shared footage!

About World of Warcraft: Dragonflight

The Dragon Isles are the ancestral home of the dragonflights of Azeroth. When the world was broke apart in the Great Sundering, magic drained away and the land went dormant. As the Dragon Isles awaken, so too do old feuds and long-dormant threats. Players will level through four new zones that make up the Dragon Isles: the roiling Waking Shores; the vast Ohn’ahran Plains; the stark Azure Span; and ancient, majestic Thaldraszus.

But the Dragon Isles are populated with more creatures than just dragons and dragonkin. Players will be able to run into Centaurs, Gnolls, Furbolgs and even Tuskarr alongside some familiar faces – Alexstrasza, Khadgar, Tyrande, Wrathion and more.
