Bandai Namco has dropped a new trailer as well as a release date for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. I consider Armored Core to be one of the greatest mecha game series, which FromSoftware makes. We have not had an Armored Core since 2012 and Armored Core V. I am a fan of the series, so let me just say the presence of Armored Core in the gaming space has been missed. I’m super excited for a new chapter in the Armored Core series set to release on August 26, 2023.
In Armored Core, you usually play a new mercenary joining a company that employs and send mercs out on missions. Using your mecha, you go on these missions and fight to win. In Armored Core VI, we will be playing an independent mercenary on a planet called Rubicon, where different factions are fighting for control over a new energy source.
The amount of customization one can do to the mecha is something I’ve always loved. You can customize the mecha by which parts you use, weapons, and color. All to say this allows you to customize your mecha to your play style and change it up after each mission should you choose to. Armored Core has also featured some of the best mecha combat I’ve ever played. I’ve always enjoyed how mobile the mechas are. Also, the combat in Armored Core VI will also be omnidirectional, which is only going to make the combat even more intense. Boost dodging and using the surroundings to your advantage are going to be what keep you in the fight.
