Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition initially revealed the new Tycoon gameplay mode alongside the latest expansion Knights of the Mediterranean that added a wealth of content to the game.
The developers describe Tycoon Mode as a new, casual friendly way to play that puts the focus on economic superiority over the military battles. Free from the pressure of head-to-head play, this new mode allows players to explore and strengthen economic strategies that they can then leverage in the other game modes throughout Age of Empires III: Definitive Editon.
