Square Enix has confirmed the Final Fantasy XIV Online Dawntrail start date is 2 July 2024
Your new adventure in the world of Final Fantasy will begin on 2 July 2024. Square Enix confirmed the start date for the latest expansion in its hit MMO while we were out playing video games this weekend. During the Final Fantasy XIV panel at the Pax East gaming event, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida took attendees on a journey through a decade of this realm reborn, ending with a look ahead to the Dawntrail expansion.
The incoming expansion transports players to a new continent named Tural, situated southwest of Eorzea’s starting area. Tural is a vibrant and diverse region, showcasing different cultures and breathtaking jungle landscapes. The bustling port and market of Tuliyollal acts as the central hub city, showcasing a connection with nature rather than industrialization. This new region stretches beyond the city, out into the expansive mountain ranges of Urqopacha, the forests of Yak T’el, and more. While some may be content to appreciate the natural beauty, an exciting adventure awaits that will determine a new ruler, but that’s for later. Players picking up the new content will also find brand-new story; two new playable jobs, pictomancer and viper; a variety of new dungeons and challenging encounters, an increase of the level cap to 100, and more.
Dawntrail Collector’s Edition
Alongside the launch date, we also now know what to expect in Dawntrail Collector’s Edition. Pre-orders for this limited set begin on 26 March and include a digital copy of the expansion and a physical Collector’s box. Pc players will be able to purchase the Steam key and box separately, with goodies including:
- Dawntrail Special Art Box – A unique art box with a shimmering golden base, evocative of a fabled city of gold. It features a Dawntrail illustration by artist Yoshitaka Amano.
- Expertly Crafted Viper Figure – An impressive high-quality figure that showcases the Warrior of Light as a viper. Including the base, the figure measures approximately H 9.65″ x W 4.52″ x D 5.90″ (H 24.5cm x W 11.5cm x D 15cm).
- Adventurer’s Cloth Map – The latest version of the FFXIV world map, which includes new locations debuting in Dawntrail. Printed on high-quality cloth, measuring approximately 16.53″ x 29.52″ (42cm x 75cm).
- The Unending Journey – A ruled notebook inspired by a favourite journal of adventurers, measuring approximately 5.90″ x 4.33″ (15cm x 11cm).
- Adventurer’s Pen Case – A roll-up pen case to hold writing instruments and other small items essential to your adventures. Unfolded, the pen case measures approximately 8.26″ x 9.44″ (21cm x 24cm).
The Digital Collector’s Edition will also be on offer with the following bonuses:

Early Access
Anybody getting their order in from an approved retailer will also get a whole 3 days Early Access ahead of the Dawntrail start date. Early Access is scheduled for 28 June 2024 at 10:00 a.m. (BST). This comes bundled with even more stuff, giving those trail blazers two more in game items, because everybody needs the included XP boost more than minimalism.
