Sci-Fi Animated Series atla stands in the foreground

Upcoming RPG Sky of Tides has a new trailer, demo, and even news of a sci-fi animated series.

ESDigital Games recently announced a ton of detail about its latest sci-fi themed RPG. While anybody watching the Future games Show would have seen the latest trailer and heard about the latest demo, there’s another way to explore the future. Sky of Tides: Atla, a new 5-part animated TV series is currently in production and will take fans on a thrilling journey, venturing deeper into the complex Sky of Tides universe.

Accompanying the release of the eponymous game, the Atla animated series will exist in the same universe as the RPG. While gamers can follow Rin as she searches for her missing father, viewers can explore a technologically advanced universe from a different point of view.
The series will follow Atla, a teenager who grew up as an elite living in the Ames Nation on Numen 9. With the responsibility of leadership weighing heavy, she must navigate the powerful forces that influence the lives of thousands, as well as her own fate. While we don’t exactly when the animated tale hits screens, but developer Skyloft Inc has confirmed it will join the game in 2024. Players looking to dip into taste the turmoil of this world ahead of the game’s full release can check out the Steam demo, or wait until it arrives on PC via Steam and EGS, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch.

What is Sky of Tides

Sky of tides is an upcoming story focused RPG that explores a turbulent future. In a time where a calamity has fractured the world of Numen into nine floating planetoids, strife and famine are rife. Two rival powers vie for control—the Syndicate through their monopoly on a little understood but powerful technology that relies on mysterious Corron minerals that they control; and the Sovereign, which favors a return to the now nearly lost ways of the ancients outlined in the banned Numen Tomes. Players will pick up the story of Rin, the daughter of Syndicate researcher Lu D’Lorah who uncovers a conspiracy to starve the people of Numen and then goes missing.

This transformational approach to mixing games and animated shows is becoming something of a norm among gaming companies now. With the huge success of Arcane, Castlevania, DOTA, and even the like of Star Trek Prodigy getting its own video game, this type of news is becoming more common. While it’s a great way to invest players in the lore surrounding Sky of Tides, we will still have to wait until later this year to find out if the game and series are both worth your time. Check out more on the official Sky of Tides Steam Page and keep and eye on streaming sites for the series soon.
