Whether you’re interested in distinct colors of low response rates, AOC has a brand new generation of gaming displays with the AGON 5 series.

Unveiled today and covering both the IPS and VA camps, these two new AOC displays are yet another new entry into the growing gaming market for AOC. Slotting in to the AGON by AOC branding for plenty of performance appeal, the the AG275QX/EU and AG275QXN/EU both add a new touch of performance to the Agon by AOC line-up.

Sporting an industry-first flat Fast VA panel, this option is all about response time and speed. Designed to compete at the top end of multiplayer titles and never let up when Hell spawns into your front room, it manages a 1ms GtG response time and a 165Hz refresh rate. This puts the 5th generation of AOC VA displays on par with the speed of pretty much any IPS panel you’ll pick up.

The IPS version of these displays brings clarity and color to the fore, with a 10-bit colour depth to reproduce 1.07 billion colors with high colour accuracy. It still manages to clock up a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, so you won’t be picking color coverage over performance either.

The pair of new displays come housed in a new body, featuring angular lines and a premium metal base, which draws plenty of inspiration from previous iterations of the AGON branding. The new design also pieces together a pair of panels with QHD resolution (2560×1440), which will work perfectly with next generation consoles thanks to its Console Mode. This allows both to accept 4K @ a 120 Hz signal and downscale it to 2560×1440, although the PlayStation 5 will now happily display at 1440p now too. For anybody looking to squeeze out even more speed, there’s also the option to enable motion blur reduction and push these to a 1ms MPRT, thanks a a set of strobing tweaks that all work to make this suitably speedy. Finally, while speed is everything in the competitive arena, office paladins will probably benefit from the 4-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub. The ergonomic and sturdy metal stand offers 150 mm height adjustment, -20/20° swivel range, -5/23° tilt range and 90° pivot orientation, to ensure that whatever your battleground, you’re not searching for a spell.
