Star Trek Online Wil Wheaton

Cryptic Studios and Gearbox Publishing have announced the PC release of Ascension for Star Trek Online. The sci-fi-themed MMORPG has had massive success in bringing in original actors to voice the in-game characters; this update is no exception. Several well-known actors have voiced their original characters including Mary Wiseman (Captain Tilly) and Chase Masterson (Admiral Leeta). Ascension brings one of the most famous Star Trek alumni into the game with the arrival of Wil Wheaton, voicing Wesley Crusher. Wheaton originated the role over 35 years ago in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Ascension brings several terrific new adventures to STO players, including a new featured episode, new cast members, a new task force operation, and a special event with a new reward alongside the Elite Officer Upgrade Program.

Ascension Update details:
  • In the new featured episode, “Eye of the Storm,” players must assemble a fleet to stop Emperor Wesley Crusher from gaining control of the powerful entity known as The Other. Captains must team up with former enemy-turned-ally Admiral Leeta to end the Terran Empire’s plans that threaten both universes.
  • Emperor Wesley Crusher – Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation and Picard), Captain Sylvia “Killy” Tilly – Mary Wiseman (Star Trek: Discovery),
  • Admiral Leeta – Chase Masterson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
  • The newest update introduces “Storm Chasers,” an exciting new ground Task Force Operation that sends Captains to the main chamber of The Other. Players must gather in groups of five, where they embark on a mission to disrupt the Terran Emperor’s connection to The Other before they reach Earth.
  • From today, September 13th, through October 13th, Captains can play through the newest content to earn a brand new reward – the T6 Terran Somerville ship.
  • This brand new game feature allows players to purchase a token, which can be applied to any bridge officer in their crew to upgrade their abilities.
