Steelrising is out now and Nacon has dropped another gorgeous look at this twisted clockwork take on the French Revolution.
Available right now across PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. Steelrising is a different take on the traditional Sous inspired hack and slash, and the new trailer for this pirouette through historical Paris is a great way to get acquainted with Nacon’s new take on real life events.
You can check out the new trailer above, where players are plunged into an alternate timeline. Set during a very different French Revolution, the country is at a standstill, with this pivotal moment in Paris stuck at a standstill. The court of the king is shrouded in secrecy and an army of mechanical automatons lay waste to the people’s revolt. Paris is set on fire: men, women and children are systematically massacred.
The fate of this national uprising falls into the hands of Aegis, the engineer Vaucanson’s masterpiece automaton and bodyguard to Marie Antoinette. The queen’s bodyguard must navigate the back alleys and courtyards of the capitol city to save the people and there are plenty of problems along the way. As a Souls inspired experience, combat is unforgiving and varied, with the option to take on adversaries as a ruthless warrior, a tough bodyguard, a deadly dancer or a virtuoso of the elemental arts. Tons of weapons assist players, as well as an assist mode for the less combat inclined, as the game weaves through iconic backdrops such as Louvre, the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, the Invalides, and the Grand Chatelet.
If nothing else this is likely to be a very different setting for the latest hack and slash to twist the Souls genre after Lies of P. You can find out more about the Steelrising Launch at the official website now.
