5 Best Video Game Remakes You Should Try

Video games iin New Zealand

Creativity and imagination were always the strongest suits of the gaming industry. Many games never needed amazing graphics to be popular, and enticing gameplay features were enough. An excellent example of that is 123Bingo, where you can try simple and addictive games that could earn you prizes.

When it comes to the video game scene, the developers became aware that some retro titles deserve a remake. That is why we are presenting the best-remastered versions of old games for PCs and consoles. Take a look at the titles that you should try as soon as you get some free time!

Mortal Kombat

Those gaming fans that are a bit older (like the author of this article) might remember the classic Mortal Kombat games from over two decades ago. They had an easy-to-learn, but a hard-to-master concept. The gameplay was incredibly addictive, and you needed a lot of skill to perform combos, fatalities, and other special finishes.

The franchise was in crisis for a while, but fortunately for lovers of fighting games, Netherrealm Studios took over. From their first Mortal Kombat game, it was clear that the series is ready for the next generation of players. Today, you can enjoy in-depth stories with amazing cutscenes, and new characters, as well as special guest stars like Freddy Krueger.

Resident Evil

For the survival horror genre, amazing stories were the foundation of a creepy atmosphere and a popular game. The Resident Evil franchise was on the right track from day one.

However, with the capabilities of next-gen consoles, a well-written story was combined with fantastic graphics and sound effects. That made the entire story even better, especially since the developers tried to design characters and surroundings to meet the expectations of the players. We have nothing more to say, except that we can’t wait for the next sequel!

Resident Evil

Doom

If we learned something from Bethesda, it is that they put in maximum time and effort for their games. When the studio revealed they would work on the Doom remake, we were ecstatic. Fortunately, it proved to be with a good reason.

Bethesda made Doom exactly what it should be – a fast-paced shooter where you can’t afford your attention to drop for a second or you might get killed. The graphics are flawless, and the sound effects only contribute to the dark atmosphere the game creates.

DOOM

Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon

The reason why we joined these two remakes is that they were developed by the same studio. Activision acquired rights for both IPs, which is why we were blessed to get the Crash Bandicoot: N’Sane Trilogy, and Spyro the Dragon Reignited Trilogy.

The concept was identical – Activision combined all three games from each series in a single release. The developers didn’t change the original levels or story, but they offered amazing graphics and improved controls. If you are a fan of platform releases, you shouldn’t miss these two remakes.

Crash Bandicoot

Crash Team Racing

Crash Team Racing deserves a separate spot on the list because it might be one of the best arcade racers ever created. The original was amazing, and CTR: Nitro-Fueled, which was released in 2019, is even better.

The developers didn’t change the initial recipe – the game remained an addictive racer that makes it exceptionally hard to win the race even at normal difficulty. However, they adapted CTR to the 21st century. That means you could also unlock extras like skins, karts, characters, and tracks from Crash Tag Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart.

The remake also features multiple modes for one or more players, as well as challenges that you can try to complete. Unfortunately, the game also has microtransactions, but the good news is that they only use them for cosmetic upgrades.

Crash Team Racing

Do you have a favorite remake? We are sure that we missed plenty of remastered versions worth mentioning, such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, Metal Gear Solid, etc. The truth is that the industry has been doing a great job with the remakes, and we hope to see more of them in the future!
